Eggdrop 0.9tp2 for Windows95 (no tcl)
Yes it CAN be done
=============================================================================
In no particular order:
This was really a "hack" port of eggdrop, out of pure desire. All I really
did, was muck with the PID stuff, because neither waitpid nor wait3 are
supported. (The compiler does support waitpid but it reports some funky error
everytime it is used). I also deleted the net errors that were not defined
in socket.h, instead many errors will return a number. Oh well look em up :)
I also changed it to say eggdrop95 instead of eggdrop. You CAN link to a 1.0
bot but it is troublesome (don't kno if it is a version thing or what) and
the party line stoped responding to the .9 bot. Incoming DCC chats do NOT
work, instead try a telnet. Due to limitations on win95 (I have not tried it
on winNT) I set it to not load in the background by default. I did up the
max logfiles to 20. In win95 with a dial up adaptor if you don't have a
static ip and the hostname returned is not your real hostname, SET THE
HOSTNAME VARIABLE (if you are running this under bash make sure the variable
is HOSTNAME not hostname). Yes virginia, this can be run under command.com
with little or no trouble. Any .9tp2 bugs are applicable, including the bad
attitude with +revenge. No tcl support at this time, I haven't figured out
how to (read been too lazy) to get a unix style libtcl working. Running
under bash there are a probably a few problems that I have noticed, the one
being that hitting ctrl-c to end eggy (or most any program) will crash bash
and/or the current running program, USE die instead. Also, this will NOT
work with gnu-win32 beta 16, because of a bug in beta 17, I had to replace
all occurances of /dev/null with /dev/nul. Keep this in mind. This was
tested completely on Win95 and I have not tried even loading gnu-win32 on an
NT box. The reason I am not distributing the binaries is because of the
license agreement which prohibits this, so here it is in a diff file. This
"hack" port was not done with the consent of Robey, nor was it done with his
help. So if you have trouble with it PLEASE do NOT complain to him, check the
eggdrop or gnu-win32 mailing lists.

Last but not least. NO TCL SUPPORT WHATSOEVER HAS BEEN ATTEMPTED OR SUPPORTED
AT ALL ON MY PART. IF YOU CAN GET TCL LINKED THAT IS WONDERFUL, BUT DO NOT
COMPLAIN TO ME THAT THERE IS NO TCL.
